A little booklearning

If it is my goal to have bees this year, I must get ready and do a little research. So I got several books out of the library and started reading. Who knew that these little fuzzy flyers were so fascinating! And that the harvesting of honey has such a long history. The reading did remind me that keeping bees is both straightforward and imaginably complex at the same time. I admit to being slightly daunted. This is no doubt a good thing.

Here was my reading list.
  • Honey Bee Hobbyist: The Care and Keeping of Bees by N.E. Gary
  • Keeping Bees: A Complete Practical Guide by Paul Peacock
  • Keeping Bees and Making Honey by Alison Benjamin
  • The Backyard Beekeeper: An Absolute Beginner's Guide to Keeping Bees in your Yard and Garden by Kim Flottum
